New Delhi: Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has approved fresh financial allocations of Rs 340.59 crore for Rajasthan and Rs 265.12 crore for Telangana under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PMRKVY) and Krishonnati Yojana (KY).
The approvals were issued during a virtual meeting held by Shri Chouhan with Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Shri Kirori Lal Meena and Telangana Agriculture Minister Shri Tummala Nageswara Rao. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Secretary Shri Atish Chandra and senior officials from the Centre and both states also participated.
The financial allocations were approved after reviewing the annual action plans, utilisation of the first Mother Sanction and expenditure progress in the two states.
For Rajasthan, the Project Approval Committee meeting held on April 20, 2026, approved an annual action plan of Rs 849.37 crore for 2026-27, including a Central share of Rs 509.62 crore.
A first Mother Sanction of Rs 216.13 crore was issued on May 4, 2026. The state has so far spent Rs 164.39 crore, accounting for 76.06 per cent of the first Mother Sanction.
Following the latest approval, Rajasthan will receive Rs 340.59 crore, including Rs 216.12 crore under RKVY and Rs 124.47 crore under KY.
Shri Chouhan called for special attention to the status of Kisan Credit Cards in Rajasthan to ensure farmers have timely and hassle-free access to credit support.
For Telangana, the Project Approval Committee meeting held on April 27, 2026, approved an annual action plan of Rs 651.06 crore for 2026-27, including a Central share of Rs 390.63 crore.
The first Mother Sanction of Rs 157.65 crore was issued on May 12, 2026. The state has incurred expenditure of Rs 96.05 crore, or 60.93 per cent of the sanctioned amount.
Telangana will now receive Rs 265.12 crore, comprising Rs 157.66 crore under RKVY and Rs 107.46 crore under KY.
Shri Chouhan appreciated Telangana’s new model for Farmer ID and fertiliser distribution, saying it would help provide services to farmers in a more transparent and effective manner.
He also noted that expenditure under the Oilseeds and Pulses Missions in Telangana was relatively behind schedule and stressed the need for regular monitoring of implementation and expenditure.
Shri Chouhan said the financial approvals are aimed at ensuring timely implementation of agricultural schemes and strengthening resources, technical assistance and monitoring in the states.
The allocations are expected to support activities related to agricultural infrastructure, productivity enhancement, input support and farmer welfare in Rajasthan and Telangana.
The Union Agriculture Minister said the Centre would continue working with the states to ensure that the benefits of agricultural schemes reach farmers effectively.
