Rallis India reports 3% revenue growth and 6% rise in profit in H1 FY27
Rallis India reports 3% revenue growth and 6% profit growth in H1 FY27 amid challenging market conditions.

Mumbai, October 22: Rallis India Limited reported a mixed performance in the second quarter of FY27, with revenue remaining largely flat and profit declining year-on-year. For the first half of FY27, however, the Tata Enterprise recorded 3% revenue growth and a 6% increase in profit after tax (PAT), supported by gains in its Crop Care and Soil & Plant Health businesses.

For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, Rallis India reported revenue of Rs 858 crore, compared with Rs 861 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26. PAT stood at Rs 85 crore, down from Rs 102 crore a year earlier, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) declined to Rs 126 crore from Rs 154 crore. The company reported an EBITDA margin of 14.7% and a PAT margin of 9.9%.

For the half year ended September 2026, revenue increased to Rs 1,880 crore from Rs 1,818 crore in H1 FY26. EBITDA rose to Rs 311 crore from Rs 304 crore, while PAT grew to Rs 210 crore from Rs 197 crore. The EBITDA margin for the period stood at 16.5%, and the PAT margin was 11.2%.

Rallis India Managing Director and CEO Dr Gyanendra Shukla said the company navigated a disruptive business environment during Q2 FY27 by focusing on its product portfolio and operational efficiencies. He added that weather-related disruptions and delayed sowing continued to affect market demand during the quarter.

Rallis India's Crop Care business recorded 4% topline growth during the quarter, primarily driven by a 17% increase in the business-to-business (B2B) segment, supported by a strong recovery in its custom synthesis and manufacturing (CSM) portfolio.

Domestic Formulations, or the business-to-consumer (B2C) segment, remained flat year-on-year. Within this segment, herbicides grew 16%, while insecticides registered flat growth. The Soil & Plant Health (SPH) business recorded 22% growth, primarily driven by price increases.

During the quarter, the company launched four products in the Crop Care category: Silentra insecticide, Marcellus fungicide, Blitox Super fungicide and Trynage herbicide. The products target key crop-pest and disease-control requirements, including rice brown planthopper (BPH), sheath blight, sugarcane weed management and disease control in major horticultural crops.

The Seeds business recorded a decline during the quarter, primarily due to higher returns from the kharif season.

The company said it would continue to focus on improving market execution, driving cost efficiencies and strengthening customer engagement to address operating challenges and improve business performance.

Weather disruptions and delayed sowing remained key factors affecting demand during the quarter, underscoring the impact of seasonal conditions on the agri-inputs industry.
