New Delhi: The Government of India has reiterated its focus on strengthening the agriculture sector through technology-driven initiatives, farmer welfare programs, and sustainable farming practices, according to a recent official release.
The Centre highlighted ongoing efforts to improve agricultural productivity, increase farmers’ income, and expand digital access to farm-related services across rural India. Key initiatives include improved access to crop advisory systems, weather-based information, modern farming technologies, and government support schemes.
According to a release, officials have stated that digital agriculture platforms and data-driven farming solutions are expected to play a major role in helping farmers make informed decisions related to crop management, irrigation, pest control, and market planning.
The government also emphasized the importance of sustainable agriculture practices, efficient resource management, and stronger rural infrastructure to support long-term agricultural growth.
Experts believe that increased integration of technology in farming could help small and marginal farmers improve productivity while reducing operational risks linked to climate and market fluctuations.
The agriculture sector continues to remain a major pillar of India’s economy, supporting millions of farmers and rural households across the country.
