New Delhi: The Department of Fertilizers has started Swachhata Pakhwada-2026, with Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers J. P. Nadda calling for active participation in the nationwide cleanliness campaign.
The campaign, being observed from September 1 to 15, aims to promote cleanliness, environmental protection, digital cleanliness and a stronger culture of cleanliness at workplaces.
Following the Union Minister’s message, officials and employees of the Department of Fertilizers took the Swachhata Pledge under the leadership of Secretary Rajat Kumar Mishra.
Mishra said cleanliness should not be seen only as a campaign but as a responsibility of every individual. He urged employees to maintain clean workplaces and surrounding areas and make cleanliness part of their daily work culture.
During the fortnight, the department will organise various activities focused on cleanliness, environmental protection and awareness. The initiative also seeks to encourage a clean and healthy office environment and greater participation among employees.
The department said officials and employees have reaffirmed their commitment to keeping their workplaces neat and clean and supporting the objectives of Swachh Bharat.
