In a review meeting at Sahyadri Guest House, CM Fadnavis discussed the use of AI, RS, and GIS to accurately estimate sugarcane area, production, and productivity for the upcoming crushing season.

CM suggested that the adoption of AI, RS and GIS technology would help both farmers and sugar mills in the efficient planning of available cane for crushing.

Alongside this, Fadnavis discussed the Maharashtra government’s solar agriculture channel project, urging energy sector officials to expedite its installation across villages. He called for progress reports to be submitted within 15 days. This initiative, a flagship project of the state government, aims to promote renewable energy in agriculture while addressing energy needs in rural areas.

Fadnavis also stressed the importance of resolving issues faced by project developers, especially regarding land encroachments. He recommended holding regular review meetings with district collectors and police chiefs to tackle these challenges. He also announced that developers no longer need a no objection certificate from village panchayats to proceed with the project. In case of land encroachments, he instructed the authorities concerned to hold joint meetings to address the issue.

To further streamline the process, Fadnavis directed that all necessary project permits for solar agriculture channels be provided online, ensuring ease of access. He assured that any issues that cannot be resolved at the district or village levels would be escalated to the state ministry.
